Polaris Capital today announced it has led a $45 million Series B funding round for Orion Quantum, a pioneering startup developing scalable quantum computing solutions for enterprise applications. The round includes participation from existing investors Founders Fund and Bessemer Venture Partners, as well as new strategic investor Quantum Horizons.

Breakthrough Technology for Enterprise Applications

Orion Quantum has developed a novel approach to quantum computing that addresses the scalability and error correction challenges that have limited the practical applications of quantum technology. Their proprietary architecture combines advanced superconducting qubits with innovative error mitigation techniques that enable more stable quantum operations at scale.

"Quantum computing represents the next fundamental shift in computational capability, but the challenge has been making it practical for real-world enterprise applications. Orion's approach bridges the gap between theoretical quantum advantage and commercial utility, particularly for complex optimization problems in finance and drug discovery."

Industry Applications

Orion Quantum is initially focusing on applications in financial services and pharmaceutical research, where quantum computing offers significant advantages for portfolio optimization, risk analysis, and molecular simulation. The company has already established partnerships with two global financial institutions and a major pharmaceutical company to develop specialized quantum algorithms for their specific use cases.

Future Development

The new funding will enable Orion Quantum to expand its engineering team, accelerate hardware development, and enhance its quantum software platform. The company plans to launch a limited commercial access program for select enterprise customers in Q1 2026, with broader availability later that year.
